Arran Access Trust Membership Information
Benefits of membership will include:
- regular information about the work of the Trust
- the chance to nominate and elect Directors to the Trust’s Board
- advising on the work of the Trust through your elected Directors
- enabling you to put your own views at Trust general meetings
- through your membership fee you will contribute to the work of the Trust
How do I become a member of the Arran Access Trust?
The Arran Access Trust hopes to attract a wide membership on Arran and from visitors. Membership is open to private individuals, voluntary organisations, businesses or public agencies. Organisations, businesses or agencies may send a representative to general meetings. There are three categories of membership which represent the main interest groups. Members will elect a Board of eight Directors who will run the Trust.
The categories of membership are:
Community and users | Access providers | Public Sector |

Anyone who accesses land on Arran for recreation or field study. Anyone who, as a full-time resident on Arran, depends for his/her livelihood on people having access to land on Arran. | Anyone (or any organisation) who owns, tenants or manages land on which there is regular public access (not private gardens). | Any public organisation whose remit includes an interest in access. |
Members in this category will appoint three Directors to represent their interests. | Members in this category will appoint three Directors to represent their interests | North Ayrshire Council will nominate one Director. |
